This is an ideal career for creative thinkers. Beauty therapists give advice to clients to improve their skin care and body condition. You also perform a variety of professional skin and body treatments within a salon, offer treatment planning and recommend products for home care use. Treatments performed include facial treatments, skin diagnosis, body massage and treatments, manicures and pedicures, waxing, tinting and makeup application.

Environment and Culture of the workplace

The beauty therapy working environment is very clean and relaxing. Often the sound of soothing music and essential oils occupy your senses and working space. In a salon you may find you are working side-by-side with the owner, thereby enhancing your knowledge and experience.
The culture of your working environment is often caring and wellness. Salon teams are usually small, supportive and nurturing. Clients come for a treatment seeking time out and relaxation.
