Qualifications & Leading Universities
If you are interested in becoming a biochemist, you must complete a Bachelor of Science, BioMedical Science or Applied Science with majors in biochemistry or applied chemistry. All are three year, full time courses. A Year 12 pass with excellent results in English, mathematics, chemistry and biology is a pre-requisitate. Those universities with high entry scores of 85+ include Monash University, University of Melbourne, University of New South Wales and Wollongong University.
