This is an ideal career for logical thinkers. Bricklayers will lay bricks and other types of masonry blocks in mortar to be able to construct foundations for housing, construct walls and other structures in building.

Environment and Culture of the workplace

As a bricklayer you will be working outdoors in all weather conditions, although in some extreme weather conditions you will not be able to work.  At times you may have to work at different heights secured by scaffolding when working on high rise developments. Bricklayers will generally work in teams. In the building trade locations change as jobs change, and you at times will have to travel long distances to reach your site location.
