The Bottom Line
Editorial careers are terrific. They offer the full spectrum: from hard core daily news with associated speed and deadline pressure to the more glamorous, stylistic monthly magazines more concerned about image and onto the more relaxed editing of a novelist’s latest manuscript. All share a common interest in reader engagement, language and accuracy. It’s an office job and one you can choose which industry sector your personality is best suited to. Be wary of burnout.
