Environment & Culture of the workplace
As a financial analyst, you will work in an office environment that is comfortable and well-lit. Since you are directly linked to brokers/traders/internal clients, your workplace is fast-paced and dynamic, with a strong sense of urgency. Accuracy and mistake-free attention to detail is a must. Mistakes are expensive and not usually tolerated. Bad advice can cost millions.
When you start as a junior, expect long working hours, with a steep learning curve. Depending on the type of firm, your responsibilities are likely to be low. As you progress your career, the workload will generally decrease while your accountability and responsibility increases. Supervision of less experienced analysts will take more of your time. Irrespective, the spot light will always be on your information or recommendations, even at the junior level.
