Career Options Available
Your freedom to develop your career further does not end the moment you complete your qualification in naturopathy and begin to practice. You may choose to increase your range of specialisation, and commence a course to become:
- a herbalist, concocting remedies from plants and plant parts;
- a homeopath, dealing with your patient’s physical and emotional situation to encourage their body to self-heal;
- a myotherapist, manually realigning the physical body to its ideal state; or
- a traditional Chinese practitioner, harmonising the body’s energies throughout the body.
At any stage you can undertake more specific courses such as reflexology, aromatherapy, acupuncture, acupressure, or oriental medicine, meditation and Reiki, to increase your knowledge of natural medicine and therapy.
You can find employment as any of the above medicinal practitioners, if you decide to focus on an aspect of traditional medicine in particular, or you can set up practice under the general title of Naturopath.
