This is an ideal career for an anlytical thinker. A pilot flies aircraft such as light planes, helicopters, or airline aircraft. A pilot may work in the private, commercial or military aviation field, and be responsible for transporting passengers, mail, or freight nationally and internationally.

The Bottom Line

‘Little boys don’t grow up, their toys simply get bigger’. As a pilot, you get paid well and may well be able to retire early. However, the pressure and responsibility can be difficult to deal with, while safety is paramount. If you’re not put off by the years of experience it takes to become a pilot, the risks, and the time away from home, then piloting might be for you.
