Education & Qualifications
Universities offer a three-year full-time program Bachelor of Podiatry course. A fourth year (Honours) is available for those meeting academic requirements. Some universities offer a Bachelor of Health Sciences, a four year full time course. You need your Year 12 pass including English. Students without chemistry and mathematics are encouraged to take a bridging course in both before the commencement of the university year.
Entry score of 85 or more is generally needed. Leading universities include La Trobe University (VIC), Curtin University of Technology (WA), Queensland University of Technology (QLD), University of South Australia (SA), University of Newcastle (NSW) and Charles Sturt University, Albury-Wodonga campus (NSW).
The undergraduate degree course studies anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics, nail surgery, podiatric theory and has more than 1,000 supervised hours of clinical podiatry in local, national and rural settings.
