A radiographer, otherwise known as a medical imaging technologist, operates imaging equipment such as X-ray machines to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. There are two types of radiography – diagnostic and therapeutic. Both require knowledge of technology, anatomy, physiology, and pathology.

You should have a scientific and technological mind and empathise with people. You will constantly be helping people but need to be able to deal with the emotional strain of not being able to help everyone. You are meticulous and interested in the benefits of radiation. Just don’t let your mind wander on the job.
