Sound Engineer

This is an ideal career for creative thinkers. A sound engineer will use technical equipment to be able to amplify, enhance and reproduce sound for performing arts, and at times record sounds.

Environment and culture of workplace

Working for large companies within the television, film or radio industry. A competitive field where the sound engineer must show an exceptional level of understanding of the hardware and software used in all areas of sound production. You will often work in a team environment on various productions mainly indoors in a pleasant surrounding office area, although at times you may be required to work outdoors on outside broadcasts, telecasts and private or public events. Evening, weekend and holiday work is usual as most stations are on air 7 days a week.  A highly competitive field with high job prospects for those highly motivated.
