Typical accountabilities and responsibilities
| Novice |
Certificate III course in tourism. Courses can be government funded through the workplace. Learn all aspects of travel and build up a client base. |

Repeat client base, trying to gain more business. Book travel arrangements for clients. Ongoing tourism courses to increase knowledge. |

Career Path Options and Employment opportunities
There are three major areas of specialisation within the travel industry which are business, domestic and international travel. There is a high industry priority to further your learning experience, knowledge and develop additional skills under the Tourism Training Package. While a majority of people employed in this industry will work in a travel agency or a call centre, there is also the chance to become employed by cruise liner companies, airline companies, or tourism wholesalers.
Some may choose to set up their own travel agency. To succeed in this takes a certain amount of capital as well as determination and commitment to hard work.
